I forgot my password — how do I recover it

Recovery goes through Telegram. On the sign-in page click “Forgot your password?” and enter your email — a 6-digit code arrives in the Telegram account linked to your profile. The code lives for 10 minutes and you get 5 attempts.

Important: if no Telegram is linked to the account, you cannot recover the password yourself — only support can reset it. So link Telegram in advance: account → the Device section → “Link”. It takes half a minute and saves you a support conversation at the worst possible moment.
